I think the most useful feedback I got from the prototype presentation is that designing a tool for others and sharing my own experience with others are two totally different ideas. Since there are already many scientific evidence to approve that knitting has benefit for people's health, I should focus more on my own feeling during the knitting process and how can I let the audiences to feel the way I feel. Maybe it is not necessary to ask audiences to interact with my project, but they can be the audiences of a performance. The process of watching somebody knitting is also a way to relax.
So here is my new concept statement:
Medi-knitter is a project to express my own feeling during the knitting process. The repetitive action of knitting brings people's attention to experiences occurring in the present moment so that they are able to attain inner peace through the project.
